Less Landfill = Leicester Jobs Boost
Today Bakers Waste Services are able to announce a £250,000 investment that will reduce the amount of waste going into Leicestershire’s landfill and create up to 12 new jobs at its new Enderby waste recycling facility.
As part of its strategy to reduce to 0% the amount of waste it sends to Leicestershire’s landfill sites, Bakers Waste Services has started a £250,000 investment in its new Enderby waste recycling facility, which will come online in November 2011.
This investment will enable Bakers Waste to divert an additional 6 waste streams from landfill to recycling instead. This will bring the total amount of waste that we recycle to 95%. 6 new jobs will be created in November, with the number of jobs anticipated to rise to 12 sometime after.
Managing Director, Paul Baker, said,
“This is another example of our commitment to reduce landfill by increasing waste recycling. Its also a clear statement of our continued investment and expansion, with all the benefits it brings to the local jobs market.”
With landfill taxes set to rise sharply in the near future, this investment is also good news to Bakers Waste Services’ customers, helping to shield them from the rising costs of waste disposal.
