Ultra-low car emissions by 2030 ambition reaffirmed as the Government states at least half of new cars are expected to fit into “Road to Zero” strategy

The government made it clear that they want the UK to lead the way in low emissions on the road. They have pledged that within just over a decade that at least half of new cars must abide by this. By 2030 there are plans to make the UK the best place in the world to own an electric vehicle. The massive expansion of green infrastructure across the country, uptake of zero-emission cars, vans and trucks and reduced emissions from the vehicles already on the UK’s roads are some of the plans outlined within the Road to Zero Strategy.

It is time for a global environmental revolution, especially in motoring, and through this strategy, the UK will be at the forefront of the beginning of delivering cleaner air, a strong clean economy and a more sustainable future.

Further Government Steps

Future of Mobility

What’s more, is through the Future of Mobility government scheme, we will also look to further prepare for and make the most of the opportunities which are generated. This scheme will not only change the way goods and services move around the country but people too.

Air Quality Plan

Do you ever find yourself wondering how on earth we’re going to cope with emissions when looking out at the sea of cars on the motorway? Well, the government has plans to stop the sale of new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans as early as 2040. The Road to Zero strategy outlined above will complement this perfectly in ensuring the government works alongside industry in order to achieve this.

Having a plan is great and the first step which must be taken in any ambitious endeavour. However, it is up to consumer groups, industries, businesses, academia and environmental groups; the UK’s public to take the appropriate actions and make this happen.
